Following the election of Dr Phophi Constance Ramathuba as Limpopo’s first female premier, congratulatory messages have been pouring in, especially from her hometown deep in the heart of Vhembe. Ramathuba was elected premier during a sitting of the seventh Limpopo Legislature in Lebowakgomo on Friday, 14 June. She becomes the fifth premier, taking over from Stan Chupu Mathabatha, who served two terms.

Konstruksiewerk is weke gelede al gestaak, tot groot frustrasie van motoriste en plaaslike sakelui wat noodwendig deurentyd die stowwerige gemors moet verdra. Wat ook duidelik was, was dat die Makhado Munisipaliteit doelbewus gesloer het om antwoorde aangaande die projek te verskaf.

Inwoners, en veral dié wat nie hou van koud kry nie, sal bly wees om te hoor dat die winter amptelik begin draai het op Donderdag, 20 Junie. Bekend as die wintersonstilstand (winter solstice), was dit ook die langste nag en kortste dag van die jaar gewees.
