Louis Trichardt’s CBD was turned into a cops-and-robbers scene, when a client of Absa Bank allegedly got robbed in front of the bank by armed thugs this morning.

Provincial police spokesperson Col Ronel Otto confirmed that an unidentified man was about to deposit money at the bank when he was overpowered by two robbers. The robbers took the man’s bag of money by force.

Otto said that one of the Makhado Police’s detectives, who happened to be in the area, saw what transpired and fired at the robbers’ getaway vehicle. Their vehicle’s tyre was shot out, but the robbers still managed to get away.

Currently a massive manhunt is underway to apprehend the suspects. At the time of this video, police could not confirm the make or model of the getaway vehicle.

Anyone who spots a suspicious looking vehicle with a flat tyre are requested to phone the Makhado Police Station immediately at Tel 015 519 4300.
