Star South-African para-athlete and Soutpansberg resident Sheryl James (above) competed in the Free State championship for people with disabilities on 7 November – her first official event since the beginning of the lockdown period.
In her T37 class, she broke the African record in the 400m with a personal best time of 63.11 seconds. She also ran a personal best of 13.55 sec in the 100m, and broke her own existing African record in this event.
Sheryl also currently holds the 200m African record. Photo supplied.
