Louis Trichardt residents learnt with great sadness of the death of the well-known and much-loved Mr Mahendra Jeram, also fondly known as Ching or Elvis.

The 73-year-old Mahendra, a tailor by profession, passed away peacefully on Saturday, 16 October, at his home in Eltivillas. His funeral service took place on Monday.

The Jeram/Bhamjee family extended their gratitude and appreciation to Dr Mohan Govind for always being available to attend to Ching’s health and well-being.

“We also extend a special thanks and appreciation to the Louis Trichardt Hindu Seva Samaj and the entire community for their kind support and unconditional love that they offered our family during our time of bereavement,” said the family.

The family said they were grateful to the Rasool family of Cycle Centre, who were Ching’s business neighbours, and thanked them for their support to him over the past 40 years. In addition, they thanked all the businesses in the Indian business complex for their support over the years.

“Mahendra Jeram will be missed by his family and extended families here in South Africa and abroad. May his soul rest in peace,” said the family.
