One of the longest-serving staff members at Limpopo Mirror, part of Zoutnet Publishing, Ms Selina Muthaphuli, says she has no regrets of the many years she has served the company.

At the age of 25 she started working for the company in 1992. She started as a general assistant with cleaning and tea-making duties, when the company was only two years old. Today she is the office administrator in the Thohoyandou office.

Twenty-five years later she can look back and reminisce at the changes that have taken place in the company. "We started off at a very small office that was partitioned at Bridge Motors in Thohoyandou. It was myself, Mr Ollie Olivier, who did the marketing, Mr Wikus Lee as editor, Ms Charlotte Peters as receptionist, Victor Mukwevho Nevumbani as reporter and myself as tea lady.”

She added that newspapers cost around 20c at that time and initially the sales were not very good. Muthaphuli, who has seen it all, said she had no regrets about the years she spent at the company. She said a lot of improvements had taken place, with so many outlets buying the newspapers and even street vendors able to make a living out of selling the papers.

"I am happy that I have been part of the history of the paper and that conditions have changed for the better during the years," she said
