Two "worlds" working together

The agreement will enable both to obtain mutual cooperation and development in the economic field as well as in trade, science, technology, culture and education. These words come from the Administrative Vice-Mayor of DanDong City, Mr Bao-Quan Deng.

Mr Deng spoke during the stone-laying ceremony of the colour steel factory in the local industrial area, by the 4th Architectural Engineering Corporation of DanDong City. He said that although the twin city relationship was founded only recently, the practical results demonstrate that it was a good choice.

"In spite of many differences between us, and although the distance between us is so far, it cannot stop our communication and co-operation in many fields." He described the corner stone of the colour steel project as a milestone and a vinculum, "the friendship crystal" of two communities, the visible beginning of co-operation.

"I believe that the leaders and officials of the two municipalities will cherish this flower of hope, bonding our solidarity, friendship and co-operation. Take care of this flower and let her bloom again and again and produce fruit, so that it will benefit the people of both communities."

He dedicated the DanDong role-players to the undertaking to timeously deliver a sound engineering construction, whilst adhering to the local laws and regulations, and to co-operate closely with their local partners.

"The DanDong municipal government will give this project its full support. We will also do our best to promote the investment possibilities of Makhado and to mobilize more business people of insight to enter into local co-operation and advancement," Mr Deng said.
