TSHAULU – Schooling in the Tshaulu area came to a standstill this week, following the mysterious death of a youth, who was found hanging in an unoccupied house.

Police spokesperson, Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, confirmed that Ndivhuwo Mbedzi (19), was found hanging in one of the three-roomed houses belonging to his uncle on Sunday morning. The house was unoccupied for a very long time. According to Mushavhanamadi, Mbedzi was reported missing since July 7.

His body, which was hanging from the roof of one of the rooms, was without the left foot, while the right leg was lying on the floor.

Mushavhanamadi also confirmed that there was no schooling in the area, as children were blocking the Tshidzini road. The children and the community believe that Mbedzi was the victim of a ritual murder.

No arrest had been made at the time of going to press and Mushavhanamadi stressed that they were still investigating the case.
