Be part of SPCA’s 30th birthday celebrations

Date: 30 June 2016 By: Andries van Zyl

The Louis Trichardt SPCA is turning 30 on Saturday, 2 July, and everyone is invited to come and join their Carnival Birthday Bash, which will be held at the SPCA’s kennels along the Vondeling Road from 10:00 onwards.

“You will have the opportunity to meet our amazing animals and take them for a walk if you wish, but there will be loads of other activities for the whole family too,” invites the SPCA team.

Delicious food and treats will be on sale to suit every taste, such as hot dogs, popcorn, candyfloss, doughnuts, toffee apples and fizzy pop drinks, as well of lots of prizes to be won in the many carnival games.

“You will be able to purchase your SPCA goodies at our stall if you have not been able to get your hands on them yet. Our T-shirts, bracelets, recipe books and aprons, fridge magnet chalkboards, doggy jerseys and second-hand books will be on sale and it will be your last opportunity to purchase your raffle tickets for our amazing Quilt Raffle that will be drawn on the day!” says the team.

Some exciting antics will be happening in the cages. A few (unlucky) individuals have been carefully selected to be jailed in the kennels on the day. Their mission will be to collect bail money to be set free. All they will be allowed to have is their cell phones (to call friends and family to come bail them out), some water and a blanket.

Saturday will also see the launch of a very special campaign, but for now the SPCA cannot say more about it. They are inviting residents to come and see for themselves what the campaign entails.

All proceeds raised on the day will be going towards helping animals in need and the animals in the local SPCA’s care. The SPCA thanks the community in advance for their support and expresses the hope to see everyone there on Saturday.
