Several die in N1 horror accident

At least two male and two female passengers were killed and 29 people were injured when a bus from Zimbabwe overturned on the N1 between Musina and Louis Trichardt on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at about 10:00 and the road was closed for hours just after the Witvlag turn-off to allow emergency workers to attend to the injured passengers and to give officials an opportunity to investigate the incident.

The police’s provincial spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto, confirmed that a case of culpable homicide was opened following the accident. She said 32 passengers escaped with only minor injuries.
