CANSA cause inspires them

Two young men on an epic adventure cycled into Louis Trichardt over the weekend.

Jed Johnson (21) and Cameron Stuart (20) set off from Richards Bay on 29 December last year and passed through town on their way to Harare.

Even though some locals labelled them as crazy, the pair’s daunting trek is backed by their big hearts in an effort to encourage donations towards CANSA’s Sun Smart campaign. This campaign highlights the prevention of skin cancer.

Jed and Cameron, two students, travel light and carry their camping gear with them in case they have to rough it and sleep under the stars. Fortunately for them, they have been taken in by friendly strangers along their route.

The most memorable overnight destination for them was when they stayed at an orphanage while passing through Swaziland. There they even got offered a milkshake.

Over the weekend, the two friends were hosted by the local CANSA branch. After a good night’s rest, they took on the mountain pass to Musina early on Sunday morning.

The two friends have documented their ride by way of photos and videos, and people who wish to support them can visit and like their Facebook page, Wings at our Feet, and follow their progress.
